Adams & Co. produced some wonderful lamps of innovative design. The company was formed from Macklin & Co. in 1861, and continued until becoming part of the U.S. Glass Company cartel in 1891. This rare catalog documents a number of desirable lamps for collectors such as the Temple and Vase lamps.
Geo. F Basset & Co. sold lamps and “Domestic and foreign glassware of all kinds” in New York City in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. They obtained their lamps from a variety of manufacturers including the E. Miller Company, Bradley and Hubbard, Hobbs Glass Co. and the King Glass Co...
Pitkin & Brooks & Co. were a large Chicago retailer who sold pottery, porcelain and glass as well as lamps. They used many of the firms who also supplied George Bassett, such as E. Miller/Rochester and Bradley and Hubbard for most of the banquet, metal table, piano, hall and chandeliers (B&H is mentioned in the catalog descriptions). The Fostoria Glass Co., Findlay Glass, Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton Co., Riverside Glass Co., Cooperative Flint Glass Co. Ltd and the US Glass Company made a number of the glass lamps in this catalog.
