Historical Lighting Reprints - This series provides collectors and researchers with an array of rare catalogs, other ephemera, and information covering the kerosene lighting era in North America. The series contains three volumes to date - the Bradley and Hubbard 1883 Lamp Catalogue, a collection of Five Early Victorian kerosene lighting catalogs was published as Volume 2 , and a collection of four catalogs from  Adams & Co., George Bassett, Miller, and Pitkin and Brooks comprised Volume 3. More catalogs and a host of smaller pieces of lighting ephemera to come in future volumes!

The Publisher - Let me introduce myself - I am David Broughton, a long-time member and Past-President of the Historical Lighting Society of Canada, member of the Rushlight Club, the Aladdin Knights, the Ephemera Society of America and the Ephemera Society of Canada. I have bought and sold on eBay for over ten years as Sirlampsalot (over 1500 successful transactions - click here to link to my eBay feedback).

I have given seminars at the meetings of the Aladdin Knights, the Historical Lighting Society of Canada, the Rushlight Club, the Ephemera Society of Canada and a number of local historical and community  organizations.

I started Sirlampsalot Publications in order to make my kerosene lighting ephemera collection accessible to lighting collectors. As a collector and researcher of both kerosene lighting and related ephemera for the past 29 years, I have long felt that there should be more good reference material available.

I have three goals for each publication - interesting, significant content , high quality reproduction , and a reasonable price. It is a challenge to achieve all three, particularly with the small numbers of these reprints that I am producing. Traditional book pricing would put the reprint price about 40% higher than my retail price. By selling direct to collectors I hope to make the reprints as affordable as possible. I ask that those who agree with this concept to buy my books and get a friend to buy one as well!

I am always looking for interesting lighting ephemera!

Thanks for your support - David Broughton
